As a recap, I did a research article on M.P. Moller 8143 last spring as part of Kutztown University's 6th Edition of the Archives Magazine. Which can be found here: https://research.library.kutztown.edu/archives/8/.

There are some additional details that I saw in historic documents that is noteworthy and worth mentioning. In the pile of records for this instrument, there is a document that shows extra stops that were planned to be added, I assume but they never made it in. The document suggests the following:

  • A III-V Fourniture in the Great Division got changed to a IV-V Fourniture as well as Cymbel III (not added).

  • A Swell 8' Vox Humana and an 8' Flauto Dolce plus its paring celeste never got added.

  • The Solo called for a 8' Gamba Celeste and an 8' English Horn, once again never added.

  • The pedal instead of the current Open Diapason wanted a 16' Diaphone.

In my own opinion, as a lover of the Vox Humana stop, It would've been a neat addition if it went through. From a document in October of 1951, the chest for the Dulciana (Swell Division) suffered water damage. The document suggested the repair time was 3 hours at an expense of $15.00. The Diapason in the Great Division (according to the letter) was not up to quality as expected. The last complaint was the organist's bench squeaks.
