This past Wednesday, I visited Macy's Center City in the John Wanamaker Building located in the middle of Philadelphia, PA. During this time, I listened to both daily concerts. The morning was played by Peter Conte and the afternoon was a mix of Rudy and Dylan. I was unsure at the time whether or not I was going to visit for the final concert.

So, the day came. I decided to go. I woke up tremendously early in hopes of beating the rush hour traffic on I-76. I got into the parking garage at 8:30am which was perfect timing for being able to hear the National Anthem, which was played by Peter Conte.

Throughout the day, I listened to a whole bunch of different music from the assistant organists. As the day progressed, the crowds grew reaching the highest number of people during the 5pm concert.

I really enjoyed hearing Toccata in D Minor and Come, Sweet Death. Those were amongst the favorites. Prior to playing the final song, Peter Conte spoke about the organs future. He mentioned that he met with the new possible owners twice and that they are dedicated to preserving and keeping the Wanamaker Organ in best condition possible.

Overall, I really enjoyed going to this grand concert of the Wanamaker Organ. I remain hopeful that this organ keeps on getting the love it deserves and that It will be played publicly again, soon.
